A note on NNW and the Law
It’s been a while since I posted a blog, as a lot of that content is now in video form, so let me start this with an apology. I will try to create some more content for this blog!
On to the issue at hand then
Today, I received a communication from my local council to say they had received an anonymous complaint that I do not have the required premises licence to sell alcohol to the general public.
I have to say at this point that I find it a real shame that the individual that made this complaint felt it necessary at all. A pang of jealousy maybe? Likely I will never find out who, or why, but here is my side of it, so that it can put the minds of my audience at ease.
Whilst correct, I do not hold a premises licence (or even a personal licence for that matter), I also don’t need one! I know, the plot thickens! Here’s why:
Under the current regulations, it is not the premises from which the business is run that requires the licence, it is the building that holds the stock, packages and ships the item that requires it. In my case, I use a licenced warehouse to run all my shipping, therefore circumnavigating the need to have a licence on myself or my property.
Rest assured, I take the law extremely seriously. As you can see, I have taken the necessary steps to stay on the right side of the law, and prepare for inevitable attacks such as this. Immediately upon receipt of the complaint, I contacted the council to provide them with the necessary information and the complaint has been logged as unfounded.
Again, I reiterate that I think it’s shame that the person who logged the complaint felt it necessary to waste not only mine and the council’s time, but also their own time as well.
